Long Island, New York-based lighting design studio Allied Maker introduces the Pulley pendant, an interactive height-adjustable lighting fixture that can tailored to fit any interior.
Representing a first for the brand, the Pulley pendant has a counterbalance design that allows for easy and perfect adjustments that can create a near-endless range of configurations.
A solid brass cylindrical weight is attached to a wooden wheel canopy and countered by a second fixed wheel, and together they allow the weight to slide easily along a brass-mesh rope, raising and lowering the blown-glass diffuser (opal or matte white) to the desired position.
Anchored to the ceiling at two points, the Pulley pendant makes an intriguing statement, one that highlights the artisanal craftsmanship of the system – rich wood and metal detailing have a hand-hewed look and both can be finished in variety of standard options.
As with all of Allied Maker’s lights, the individual parts of the Pulley pendant are finished by hand and composed of curated raw materials – like thick gauge brass, solid American hardwoods and hand-blown glass – that naturally patina over time to achieve a rich texture.
