A first-time collaboration between Austrian automotive and product design firm Studio F.A. Porsche and American bathroom manufacturer Duravit led to the comprehensive Qatego collection, which highlights their shared appreciation for authentic materials, elegance and durability.
Qatego includes ceramic wares and furniture that were all inspired by stones that have been gently polished by water. Minimalist and defined by distinctive details, the series relies on natural wood, ceramic and stone to achieve contrasting design forms — softly rounded fixtures and linear furnishings.
Enhancing the comfort, wellbeing and function of the bathroom, Qatego furniture elements include a console vanity with a drawer and above-counter basin, a floating wall-mount unit with integrated washbasin and more, all of which showcase an interplay of open and closed surfaces. Also part of the collection are tall cabinets with hinged doors, mirrors, and mirrored cabinets with a storage shelf. The Qatego mirror brings ambient lighting, sensor-control and de-fogging options.
The PEFC-certified wood furniture elements are available in six neutral finishes — from matte white to super-glossy white, wood tones (marbled oak, black oak and oak terra), while also featuring biophilic influences like natural stone panels in Carrara marble, Lavica stone or travertine.
On the ceramics side, soft-edged rectangular format includes three styles — wall-mounted, above-counter with tap platform, and undercounter basins. A freestanding DuroCast Plus bathtub echoes the shape of the sinks, ergonomically supports the lower back and has a velvety texture. The coordinating toilet is available in wall-mount and freestanding versions and all ceramic pieces can be specified with the optional antibacterial HygieneGlaze, which eliminates approximately 90 per cent of bacteria in six hours and nearly 99.9 per cent after 24 hours.
