Los Angeles-based Black Crow Studios has released the Rebellion III wallpaper collection, its third installment of designs created in collaboration with students from the Academy of Art University’s (AAU) fashion department.

Devised by Black Crow Studios founder (and AAU alum) Tracy Hiner, the Rebellion series is intended to offer accessible and tangible opportunities to students, who can submit their own artwork for consideration.

The Rebellion III wallpaper collection features work from two contributors – Aimée Hironaka Juteau, who created 13 designs, and Claudia A. Nicholas, who developed five.

Each of the 18 patterns within the collection reflects a uniquely Californian sensibility by paying homage to the Golden State’s iconic landscape.

The Rebellion III wallpapers are available through Black Crow Studios’s quick-ship mural program and are digitally printed on its newest substrate — Raw Texture, a PVC-free wallcovering that features the tactility of handmade paper — as well as its signature Smooth Matte material, which is suitable for contract-grade applications.

Aimée Hironaka Juteau’s patterns are Big Basin, Crystal Cove, Death Valley, El Capitan, Granite Ridge, Mariposa, Monterey, Point Reyes, Redwoods, San Gabriel, San Joaquin, Sequoia and Yosemite. Claudia A. Nicholas’s patterns are Anza-Borrego, Half Dome, Mammoth, Morro Bay and Trinity Alps. Rendered in a diverse palette of moody and evocative colourways like Willow, Orchid Mist, Hemlock, Harvest, Cinnabar and more, the individual patterns have abstract expressions that walk the line between modern, organic and luxurious.

A portion of proceeds from the Rebellion III wallpaper collection will go towards supporting Inner-City Arts through Black Crow Studios’ Rebel with a Cause Charity Pool.
