Summer 2026

Modern lounge with burnt orange and red upholstered chairs, round tables, a large black circle wall art, red striped rug, and a vase of flowers on one table. Natural light from large windows.

Developed by Maryland-based industrial designer Ken Reinhard, the Rhine collection from HBF is a modular family of petite club chairs defined by organic forms that offer a fresh alternative for lounge spaces.

Rhine Collection HBF

When devising Rhine for HBF, Reinhard aimed to create a collection that could be endlessly arranged and rearranged to accommodate a wide number of spaces and needs. Featuring sculpted forms and tactile materials, the modules offer complete spatial freedom for multipurpose settings like hospitality venues, commercial spaces and other public areas.

Intended to allow designers to “craft spaces that flow like the river of the same name,” Rhine can be used to form everything from intimate conversation zones to expansive lounge areas and everything in between. The collection includes the Petite Club chairs (with or without arms) in static, swivel or mobile (with concealed casters) options.

Set on a sleek veneer plinth base (which is available in oak in five stains or eight painted colourways or walnut in four stains), the Rhine seating collection features horizontal precision-constructed segments that can be upholstered in uniform or contrasting fabrics or leathers. This ability for customization furthers the chair’s ability to be seamlessly introduced into nearly any environment.

On the comfort side, Rhine from HBF stands at 47.6 centimetres tall, providing a working-height seat with engaged ergonomics that support focused work. Pressure-fit metal ganging brackets allow for the seats to be linked together; the collection also includes a side table, coffee table and bridge table that can be integrated into the seating landscape.

The optional tables are equipped with Juniper Design’s Ground Control power outlets, which can be finished in Satin Brass, Satin Nickel or Black Oxide. The table bases are offered in the same oak and walnut veneer options as the chairs.

Modern cafe interior with rust-colored velvet chairs, round tables, a brown bench, and a gradient wall hanging beside a large window.

The table tops are offered in three solid surface options (Designer White, Frosty White and Night Stars), three engineered quartz options (Calacatta Olympos, Urban Cloud and Enchanted Rock), seven laminate selections (Designer White, Fossil Shale, Loft, Muslin, Flint, Black and Velvet Black) and five etched-glass alternatives (Ice White, Black, Cool Grey, War Grey and Caffe).
