RIVA Spain, manufacturer of high-quality wood interior flooring and cladding, recently added the RIVA Moss collection of wall and surface design elements that bring a healthy dose of nature to indoor settings, both private and commercial.
Made from sustainably harvested and preserved moss, the benefits of the RIVA Moss collection are many: Along with being low-maintenance and easy to care for, the preserved moss improves indoor acoustics by absorbing atmospheric sound and reducing overall noise levels and assists in creating balanced and consistent humidity levels by naturally absorbing and releasing moisture from the air. On the human-centric side, RIVA Moss installations can contribute to a sense of well-being by introducing organic greenery, which has been proven to reduce stress, create a sense of calm and serenity and bolster a positive mood, mental clarity and general health.
Three species are used for the RIVA Moss collection – mood moss, lichen and reindeer moss – all of which are sustainably harvested from a variety of European forests. Once gathered, the moss undergoes a specific process to extract hydrogen from its cells, which prevents rotting, before being soaked in a glycerine solution to replace the water while retaining its natural softness and flexibility.
Using exclusively biodegradable and non-toxic materials throughout procedures means that the end results are 100 per cent hypoallergenic and safe for humans and the environment.
RIVA Moss by RIVA Spain is available in three textures, each with its own unique attributes: Balls, three-dimensional cushion-like mounds with a velvety feel; Lichen, a rich, sponge-like option that can be custom coloured in 15 vibrant hues; and Mood, a carpet-like texture that creates a naturally calm oasis.
All three textures within the RIVA Moss collection can be framed like pieces of art in three designs (Essentials, Amazonia and MoMA) each with multiple variations, used to create adaptable wall installations or inspire fully customized projects, including being designed with corporate logos or personalized motifs for the home.
