A modern interpretation of Scandinavian craft heritage, the Röllakan collection by Layered has been expanded with the introduction of two new patterns — Selma and Röllakan Solid — as well as new colour options for Ruth, the collection’s signature rug.
The Röllakan collection from Layered merges hand-woven wool with graphic precision, resulting in rugs that have a classic yet distinct expression that works seamlessly in contemporary settings. Paying homage to women-led craft traditions, the Röllakan rug collection is both timeless and of the moment.
Bringing a softer and more feminine pattern to the Röllakan collection, Selma features stylized flowers that march along the surface in an appealingly rhythmic arrangement; a graphic border contains the flowers and brings further order to the pattern. Selma has a luxuriously soft hand and is offered in two colours: Dove, which has a grey-blue base and warm ochre accents, and Sage, a muted green tone with beige accents.
Also included in the expansion of the collection is Röllakan Solid, which has a pattern-free centre surface that is framed at the top and bottom edges by a series of vertical stripes. Providing a calm and soothing foundation in any room, Röllakan Solid is also offered in two colours: Sky Blue and Marigold.
A signature of the Röllakan collection, the Ruth series has been updated with two new colour options: Almond, a warm off-white with notes of beige and grey, and the yellow and ochre Harvest Yellow. The hand-woven flatweave features a checkered pattern with strong graphic appeal.
All three rugs are hand-woven using a weft of 100 per cent wool and a warp of 100 per cent cotton and are offered in multiple sizes that range from 75-by-240 centimetres to 300-by-400 centimetres.
