Roopa Table Collection by Doshi Levien for Arper

London studio Doshi Levien extols the significance of small details with its Roopa collection of tables for Arper. Exploring the contrast between material and finish – a concept Doshi Levien first applied to the brand’s Shaal sofa – the Roopa tables combines a high-gloss, semi-translucent glass top with a matte-finished MDF base.

This clashing of elements is both playful and sophisticated, and even more pronounced through the four monochromatic colourway options available – Warm Grey, Midnight Blue, Forest Green and Jaipur Pink – which also complement the hues of Shaal. Each table’s surface displays a subtle transition between the glossy and matte with a tidy bevel.

Roopa is available as a low round coffee table with three legs – which are angled slightly askew for a low-key sculptural effect – and as a smaller side table with rectangular surface held up by a slender pedestal and round base plate.

Made from FSC-certified and European-sourced MDF, the tables can be fully disassembled for recycling at end of life.
