Designers Ludovica+Roberto Palomba deliver a touch of elegance and refinement to the executive suite with the Sella armchair and Siena desk for Italian brand 4Mariani.
Riffing on the shape and materiality of horse saddles – the essential horse-riding accoutrement that it is named for – the Sella armchair is defined by a sinuous silhouette and supportive structural integrity. The chair’s leather exterior has a carefully calibrated thickness that is softened by the plus internal padding, both of which showcase 4Mariani’s artisanal craftsmanship capabilities.
Set on a die-cast aluminum 5-star, swivel base with casters, the chair features an integrated height-adjusting gas-piston as well as a tilt-mechanism. Sella’s base can be chromed or matte black and a large number of leathers are offered for the upholstery; high-back and low-back, as well as a conference and cockpit version, are available.
The Siena desk, meanwhile, is composed of two complimentary elements – at one end, a top surface that extends and gracefully bends to form a structure and, at the opposite end, a solid wedge-shaped volume that contains lockable storage drawers.
Playing with geometries, lines and proportions, the resulting design again showcases quality workmanship and technique. The continuous tabletop/leg structure are made from three material combinations: coated melamine and saddle leather, particleboard and veneer or MDF and lacquered wood. On the other side, the drawered cabinet can repeat the material combinations and features sleek black-painted metal handles. A deep burgundy lacquered option is intended for the home office.
A wide range of sizes and configurations are offered for the Siena executive desk.
