Italian architect Michele De Lucchi has contributed the striking Stay collection to the diverse portfolio of furniture-maker Stellar Works. The two-piece series consists of a dining table and chair, each taking a sensitive approach to nature by eliminating any unnecessary detailing or accents.

Made from solid wood, the playful yet rigorous designs have an organic and sculptural appeal that references natural formations. With the dining table, four pieces of wood are seamlessly joined at the centre and have a refined bevelled edge. Reminiscent of a tree’s supportive root system, the four legs branch out from underneath and feature an intriguing open design that works to ensure stability.

The legs of the Stay chair mirror those on the table, give the piece a strong visual character. Strengthening this is the intricate four-leaf clover-shaped seat. Constructed from carved and hand-finished wood, no two are exactly alike.

Suitable for use in both residential and commercial settings, the Stay collection is available in oak (in natural, black, dark brown or onyx finishes) or walnut (in natural or soap finish).
