Twice a year, California-based Heath Ceramics dives into its archives to explore and experiment with colour, material and technique for two limited-edition collections. For Summer Seasonal, the studio celebrates the “energizing pause of blue’s pure and universal glow,” selecting the 50-year-old Moonstone glaze to build a palette inspired by the sky and water.

As an extension to the biannual collections, the ceramics-maker also reaches out to other artists and asks them to interpret the seasonal palette in their own medium, resulting in diverse offerings – from pillows, tea towels and napkins to stools, floor runners, recycled car glass bowls and more – that complement the collection’s bowls, serving platters, tray sets, cups, crocks and vases.
