A protagonist of the living room since its introduction in 2020, the Sumo family is distinguished by its unique concave seat. Now, the series by Piero Lissoni has been enriched with new variants designed to respond to a more classic and rigorous idea of comfort.
Playing, de-structuring and reassembling are confirmed as some of Living Divani’s most favourite activities. These are exemplified with the new upholstery offerings: available in three sizes (plus a coordinating oversized armchair), Sumo still features its telltale slim-lined wooden supporting frame, but it’s now aligned to be perfectly horizontal; generously stuffed volumes rest atop this essential element in strong contrast to the rarefied outlines of the slender silhouette.
A meticulous composition of different layers – from the thinner padding of the seat to the majestic sloped armrests to the backrest that folds ever so slightly to reveal the wooden platform and slender metal legs – Sumo is at once elegant and inviting.
Charm on stage, Sumo’s varied weights are carefully balanced by the measured eye of its demiurge Lissoni, and can be totally customized for comfort thanks to the possibility of incorporating a mechanism that makes the backrest reclinable to meet different relaxing needs.
