The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

Designed by Lisbon-based Pedro Sottomayor for Frama, the Tasca chair seamlessly moves between indoors and outdoors thanks to its lightweight aluminum construction. Inspired by traditional seating in family-run Portuguese restaurants – or Tascas – the chair merges timeless characteristics with contemporary industrial aesthetics.

Manufactured in Portugal at one of the country’s oldest metal furniture-making factories, Tasca is durable and is composed of three complementary parts: slender pole-like legs, a moulded seat and graceful rounded back.

The smooth finish of the material has a charming silvery look that will age gracefully over time. Simple and versatile, Tasca is intended for use in public spaces like bistros, canteens and restaurants as well as in private residences, terraces and gardens. The Tasca chair is part of Frama’s Permanent Essentials Collection.
