For his Tuya chair for Austrian furniture brand Wittmann, Spanish designer Jaime Hayon was focused on creating an emotional connection between the stately furniture piece and the user. Combining timeless elegance with ergonomic functionality and unparalleled comfort, the Tuya chair from Wittmann envelopes the sitter with a cocooning effect.

The high-back Tuya chair designed by Jaime Hayon for Wittmann has an effortlessly light appearance that belies its robust construction. Comprised of a well-proportioned pocket-spring seat shell and sleek yet unassuming four-point base, the classic wingback features an integrated rocking mechanism that enables a 360-degree rotation and various lockable tilt angles; the mechanism’s lever is colour-matched to the chosen finish of the base for a thoughtfully tailored look.

Fitted with a separately adjustable supportive head and neck cushion, the Tuya chair is the epitome of comfort and relaxation. Its companion foot stool is set on a swivelling base that furthers the seat’s overall comfort.

Precise stitching and contoured piping details speak to Wittman’s expert craftsmanship while Tuya’s sinuous profile is an expression of Jaime Hayon’s signature playful flair.

The Tuya chair designed by Jaime Hayon for Wittmann is available in a range of leather and fabric upholstery options and the aluminum base is offered in Black Grey (or polished aluminum by request).
