The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

An update to Helsinki designer Timo Ripatti’s original 2016 large-scale lamp series, U-Light now features a sound-absorbing panel to provide both illumination and an acoustic solution.

Available upon request, the noise-dampening and lightweight insertion is made from malleable PET (with a thickness of 25 millimetres) and is able to absorb the high and medium frequencies that can disrupt large, open spaces, including restaurants, waiting areas, offices and other hospitality and contract environments.

A graphic interplay of circular elements, U-Light’s main structure is painted aluminum (in several colours and sizes) and features an opalescent diffuser for an amiable illumination; the LED source emits a soft-white dimmable light. Combining cutting-edge technology with craftsmanship, the collection also includes suspension, wall and ceiling models.
