Berlin-based product designer Dirk Winkel applied a deceptively delicate hand when crafting the w225 ion lamp for Swedish lighting brand Wästberg. Developed through rigorous research, the sleek fixture features advanced technologies and mechanical engineering. 

Whip-thin and understated, w225 Ion is built around a miniature friction joint with cordless power connection, the mechanics of which allow for a sophisticated configurable system of illumination. Similar in construction to laptop joints, the mechanism allows for it to rotate 360-degrees and securely locks into place. 

The full-spectrum COB (chip-on-board) LED casts a beautiful and high-performance illumination that is diffused through a high-quality lens or reflector with prismatic diffuser. An intelligent heat-management system and effective glare protection prolong its lifespan. Meanwhile, two optical systems are available – one wide and even, the other narrow and focused. 

Two arm lengths are available for the light as well as a variety of mounting options (table, wall and floor), Wästberg’s w225 Ion is suitable as a workspace companion, bedside reading lamp and everything in between. Offered black or white.
