Combing LightArt’s LED technology with parent-company 3form’s Varia resin, this wood-inspired collection of laser-cut shades celebrates the complex textures and patterns found in the natural material it’s named for.
The new Woods lighting collection by LightArt includes recreations of six prominent tree species – White Oak, Black Ash, Cherry, Gray Oak, Walnut and Wenge – offering a diverse range of options to run from airy to deeply toned.
From White Oak, a creamy beige with tan veining to the rich chocolate brown with darker brown streaks Walnut and the dark and moody Black Ash, which casts a soft glow when illuminated, the patterns and colourways add notes of biophilia in a unique way.
Along with the six tree species options, two laser-cut patterns are available: Sequence, a geometric cut-out design with edged lines that reference root systems, and the linear Vade, which features parallel stripes running through the organically veined graphic material.
The Woods collection is available for three of LightArt’s fixtures: The Contour Cigar pendant, whose cocoon-like has open seams to emit atmosphere light, is available in Wenge, Gray Oak and White Oak; the I/O Drum, with the new patterns on the outside, is available in Gray Oak in the Vade pattern; and the classic LA2 Three Beam, which is defined by its sharp rectangular form and available in Walnut and Black Ash in the Sequence pattern.
