Barcelona-based interior and industrial designer Francesc Rifé notes the shapely form of wooden oars as partial inspiration for his Wudi collection for Sandler Seating, which includes an armchair, sofa, benches and tables. Intended for lounge areas and waiting rooms, the pieces combine a modern aesthetic with traditional craftsmanship.

The smooth and flat armrests of the sofa and armchair elevate the comfort of the sitter while also contributing a timeless characteristic to the handsome seating.

A stretched-fabric sling-like backrest offers reliable support and expresses a tailored yet relaxed look when approached from behind. 

Backless upholstered benches – in two sizes – have a subdued elegance and are easily integrated into any arrangement, while the side tables – also in two sizes – can include a lower shelf for additional storage for books, magazines or other objects. 

Made from solid oak (in natural or stained walnut, wenge or black) and offered with a range of upholstery fabric and leather options, all the pieces in the Wudi series (from Sandler Seating’s Inclass collection) are unified through their structured framework with simple dowel-like legs.
