Created by renowned design studio Form Us With Love for Swedish acoustics brand Baux, the X-Felt collection of large-format, high-performance acoustic panels and tiles was inspired by Japanese Zen gardens.

Combining superior sound absorption with distinct, precision-cut patterns, the X-Felt collection from Baux is made from ultra-fine high quality polyester fibres sourced from GRS-certified PET, a material composition that eliminates the need for harmful fire-retardant treatments while still meeting rigorous fire safety standards.

Both functional and environmentally responsible, the collection features one plain panel and eight patterned panels; evoking the balance, simplicity and harmony of Japanese Zen gardens, the patterns have varied linear expressions that range from straight or rippled to wavy and fluid.

Each of the linear patterns in the X-Felt collection can be mixed and matched together to form unique murals to be applied to walls or ceilings – only a thin strip of glue and gentle pressure is required to adhere the panels and tiles securely to the desired surface.

Described as “senseful acoustics,” the X-Felt collection is made using a layered sandwich construction technique that results in a smooth, compact and lightweight structure that is then cut into panels (280 H x 100 w cm) and tiles (60 H x 60 W cm). At end of life, the panels and tiles can be recycled at PET-processing facilities, or returned to Baux through its Baux Circle Programme for responsible disposal and re-use.

The X-Felt collection from Baux is offered in three subdued monotone neutrals – Mono Chalk Grey, Mono Granite Grey and Mono Ash Black – and six refined colourways with contrasting line hues – Duo Sand & Grey, Duo Brown Sand & Black, Duo Grass & Grey, Duo Sky Blue & Black, Duo Deep Water & Grey and Duo Red Clay & Grey.
