The celebrated Villa Malaparte in Capri in dialogue with DEMOGO architects’ lodge in the Dolomites. Giancarlo De Carlo’s university colleges in Urbino contrasted by David Adjaye’s Sugar Hill project in Harlem. Casa Baldi by Paolo Portoghesi in Rome in conversation with Zaha Hadid’s “space age” house in Russia. Stefano Boeri’s Bosco Verticale in Milan together with the Moriyama House in Tokyo.
These are just a few of the duets in this new presentation of MAXXI’s architecture collection that recount the evolution of the concept of habitation from the post-war years to the present day, analyzed through the works of the great 20th-century masters and new figures emerging on the international architectural scene.
The exhibition project also discusses architecture through the physical and immersive experience of the visitor with a series of life-size installations and site-specific pavilions realized by Italian and international architects.
