How to Build a Feminist City: Workshops event craft objects

Jumping off Canadian urbanist Leslie Kern’s book Feminist City: Claiming Space in a Man-Made World, the Goethe-Institut is reading, listening, and exchanging ideas with Torontonians throughout the fall/winter 2022 season. Combining theory and practice, global impulses and visionary ideas, together we imagine and build a (model) feminist city in an open thinker & maker process, through “How to Build a Feminist City: Workshops,” free and open to all.

Spend one or two or three Wednesday nights with us building a (model) feminist city in the Goethe event space. Get ready to get crafty and radical (no experience or arts degree necessary).

Together we will lift ideas generated from your understanding of Feminist City as well as our past reading groups into a maker model city. Bring your questions, leave your thoughts, map your ideas on and from our Goethe Think Wall, a collaborative open-access visioning board — through social media, photos, stickie notes or whatever inspires you.
