Mind Meld

Mind Meld, a group exhibition that brings together visual artists and designers, will feature a series of one-off design objects that celebrate creative collaboration across disciplines. Co-curated by Rachel Bullock, co-founder of the design studio Laun, and Holland Denvir, founder of the Los Angeles creative sales agency Denvir Enterprises, and on view at their joint showroom in Downtown LA, Mind Meld will open on June 21, as the official kick-off event of the brand new design festival, Los Angeles Design Weekend, and will remain on view through July 19, 2024.

Bullock and Denvir have created thirteen artist / designer pairings for the exhibition, which showcases a diverse array of furniture and design objects. Each designer has selected a work by an artist as a point of departure, and the original piece will be on display alongside their collaborative object.

“As designers, we take so much inspiration from Los Angeles’ incredible community of artists and often work together to create custom, site-specific pieces for our projects. We wanted to bring these worlds together for MIND MELD, giving a group of artists and designers we admire a chance to collaborate, explore new techniques and materials, and play off of one another’s creative process,” says Bullock.
