OVERVIEW
The Architectural Association’s programs are committed to “producing and disseminating ideas that challenge and advance the design of contemporary culture, cities and the environment.”
Working hard to engage with such as affordable housing or urban nomadism and its effects on exclusion, the AA School of Architecture is constantly incorporating a global perspective into their curriculum. Case in point: In 2022, postgraduate architecture student Vasheena Mittal presented a new environmentally conscious office design that uses jaalis (stone screens) to create a COVID-friendly workplace in Gurugram. Furthermore, the programs allow students to debate, challenge and think critically about current architectural practices.

Undergraduate students get the opportunity to work both individually and collaboratively in a shared studio space in the midst of the main school and in various tutorials, seminars, workshops and presentations. Post-graduate students, meanwhile, can choose from 11 paths of study — including Design and Make, Urbanism, Emergent Technologies, History and Critical Thinking and Sustainable Environmental Design — allowing them to pursue a sector that speaks to them.
