Summer 2026

The June/July/August 2026 edition of AZURE is dedicated to our 16th annual AZ Awards — and also features the best of Milan, the New Museum’s expansion, the latest in building envelope systems and more!

The AZ Awards issue packs much more than our winners and finalists — though they certainly take pride of place. (And you can read all about them on our dedicated AZ Awards site.)

OVERVIEW

Savannah College of Art and Design promises to prepare students for the real world, providing them with skills critical to become successful interior designers as well as practitioners of numerous adjacent specialties, including project management, facilities planning and healthcare design. It also offers numerous services, including mock interviews, portfolio building and assistance in finding internships and employment. Alumni have been recruited by such institutions as the SCAD Museum of Art, Green Building Services, the American Institute of Architects and numerous firms; SCADpro, the university’s in-house creative consultancy, also exposes them to collaborations with corporate partners like Amazon, Disney, and more.

The college has three campuses, including one in Lacoste, France, but its interior design degrees – a BFA, MA and MFA – are offered on the two Georgia campuses (Savannah and Atlanta) and online via SCADnow. In 2022, SCAD announced the formation of four new schools, including the School of Creative Technology, which it describes as “combining technical mastery with artistic sensibility where students become architects of the imagination at the intersection of technology, experience, and entertainment.” The experimental school includes an MFA in Themed Entertainment Design, which “merges set design, live event production, and compelling storytelling”, and a BFA in Immersive Reality.
