Summer 2026

The June/July/August 2026 edition of AZURE is dedicated to our 16th annual AZ Awards — and also features the best of Milan, the New Museum’s expansion, the latest in building envelope systems and more!

The AZ Awards issue packs much more than our winners and finalists — though they certainly take pride of place. (And you can read all about them on our dedicated AZ Awards site.)

University of Toronto, Landscape Architecture
Strengths
A deep, respected course of study at a world-renowned university in an internationally connected city

Overview

The challenging masters course offered through the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design is “reinventing landscape practice for the next generation” by teaching students how to create “socially inclusive, ecologically informed and culturally meaningful environments.” Intensive studio-based courses challenge candidates to explore key design hurdles facing urban landscapes, while initiatives such as the GRIT Lab provide an inside look at groundbreaking green roof research. Along with the Architecture and Urban Design departments, Landscape Architecture recently took up residence in a new, state-of-the-art building complex, created through the $69-million overhaul and extension of a 140-year-old Gothic Revival gem.
