The Netherlands-based studio Visser & Meijwaard has added two fresh versions to its Lyn series of cabinets for furniture-maker Pulpo. Pragmatically dubbed Mini and Extended, the extensions introduce two new sizes to the overall collection, which was originally conceived for the German brand by designers Vera Meijwaard and Steven Visser in 2020.
Exploring and rethinking established silhouettes, the duo has reduced the storage unit to its absolute essential form, removing the doors and presenting a transparent structure that conceals very little. The pieces are suitable for residential interiors.
The chosen materials also challenge expectations, with the glass components appearing to float within a super-slender metal framework.
Available in four colours of glass – blue, green, grey and mirror – the overall appearance of Pulpo’s Lyn cabinets shifts and reacts to changing lighting conditions and the viewer’s perspective, adding another unique layer.
