Just as many of you are continuing to create groundbreaking projects in spite of the circumstances, the editors at Azure are working hard to deliver stories about the incredible design innovation that is happening in this unparalleled crisis. Our website is more active than ever: We’re heartened by the countless design and architecture initiatives underway to help frontline healthcare workers battle COVID. We’re probing the urban design profession on the (post-pandemic) future of density. We’re sharing the best books, films and online exhibitions to feed your creative spark. And we’re also writing about purely awesome buildings, interiors and products – because great architecture and design are still the most uplifting subjects we know of.
For Azure, the pandemic corresponded with a major milestone, which we marked with the release our 35th Anniversary Issue – a special collector’s edition focused on interviews with some of the most relevant architects and designers in the world, including Renzo Piano, Frida Escobedo and Francis Kéré. The contents of this issue are available on our website to our print and digital subscribers. If you’re not a subscriber, now is the best time to become one, thanks to our new MyAZURE+ platform, which gives you unlimited online access. You can also purchase a copy of the print magazine:
The May 35 Anniversary Issue represents what we aim to produce every time: insight and inspiration in equal measure. However, due to the considerable challenges that we currently face in printing and distribution, our upcoming June issue has been deferred to the September issue, to be released in early August. Subscribers will be compensated with extensions to their subscription terms and will be able to access the rich content we are creating for that edition – focussed on the work environment – in print as well as online, and at a time when, we hope, we are all back in our offices and more ready to show up for work than ever.
The July/August AZ Awards Annual has been deferred to the October issue, to be released in mid-September. Stay tuned for upcoming AZ Awards announcements.
And keep up with our continuous design coverage online. You’ll find an AI-enabled home gym, educational cards for your kids approved by Sir James Dyson, a former Paris military barracks transformed into a vibrant community square, new products for your upcoming projects and much more.
As always, we wish all the best to you, your friends, families and colleagues.
