Across Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week 2025, modern furniture embraced glossy, syrupy finishes and butterscotch brown tones. Here is some of the fresh eye candy that stood out.
1
The Color of Copper by CC-Tapis
Kwangho Lee’s 240-by-300-centimetre rug for CC-Tapis blends silk, aloe and Himalayan wool into a groovy geometric composition that perfectly captures the vibe of a ’70s den.
2
Ringo by Marset
Marset launched Joan Gaspar’s icy polycarbonate pendant in four finishes (including the toffee-like amber shown), two sizes and three colour temperatures.
3
Opale by Pedrali
Available in ash or walnut, the legs on French designer Patrick Jouin’s bouclé-textured seat for Pedrali taper from an oval shape down to a circular base. A subtle handle built into the backrest facilitates easy repositioning during games of musical chairs.
4
Pied-à-Terre by Magis
What’s a dinner table without a little seasoning? Working with Magis, Italian duo BrogliatoTraverso intersects a steel base with a recycled marble ballast, then tops the whole thing off with soft-touch laminate. Choose from fixed or extendable versions.
5
Bambù by Calligaris
The nodes that separate bamboo cane segments provided inspiration for the distinctive lip in these ceramic Calligaris coffee tables, offered in two sizes.
6
Owen by Poliform
Jean-Marie Massaud encourages deep relaxation with this handsome Poliform armchair’s generous seat and fluid backrest.
7
Butter by Tacchini
Butter sculptures are a hallmark of agricultural fairs — but this year, Faye Toogood carried the tradition to a furniture fair, wowing Salone with an oversized modular sofa based on a concept model that she developed at her breakfast table from a slab of Cornish butter.
8
Pace by A-N-D
Beaming light through multiple layers of glass, Caine Heintzman’s latest A-N-D range includes a sconce, table and floor lamps, and a series of pendants that stack together several disc modules.
9
Fluid joinery by Cassina
Mouth-blown into a cast-iron mould, this low glass Cassina table by Dutch designer Linde Freya Tangelder is engraved with thick accent lines.
10
Coupé by Minotti
Giampiero Tagliaferri took cues from ’60s and ’70s designs to develop Minotti’s gracefully supportive combination of rounded elements, which include both padded headrests and plush lumbar cushioning.
