OVERVIEW
The intensive one-year Interaction Design Programme at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design focuses on life-centred innovation and is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students are encouraged to explore the topics covered by the 17 SDGs, which include “gender equality,” “clean water and sanitation” and “sustainable cities and communities,” before formulating ideas. They then prototype their designs as part of the program’s hands-on approach to the learning process. Case in point, some notable student projects from 2022 included a COVID-friendly audiovisual installation that encourages people to stretch, a deep dive into Spotify’s user interface and a proposal for a safer ride program in Costa Rica. The institute also gives students access to world-class partners like Lego, Ikea, Google and Velux, where they can meet and work with industry professionals on projects.
