Swedish rug-maker Pappelina has introduced two new designs – Kotte and Randy – to its portfolio. Made by hand at the company’s weaving mill in Leksand, Dalarna, all of the brand’s easy-to-clean sustainable rugs are woven from phthalate- and toxin-free PVC, UV- and water-resistant and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Meaning “pinecone” in Swedish, the Kotte rug features a Fibanocci-inspired pattern of repeating simple curved shapes that cascade across its surface. Offered in a palette of six earthy tones, the reversible rugs are woven using phthalate-free PVC ribbons with a polyester warp; welded edges reinforce the material structure. Available in six sizes.
With angled stripes running across a solid ground, Randy is the latest addition in the classic striped category.
Reminiscent of a handsome menswear fabric, this design is also made from PVC ribbons and polyester. Offered in three muted neutrals and four sizes.
