The Hub Créatic is the new home of 70 startups, and 18,000 new media employees, in Nantes.

Tetrarc, a Paris firm behind a portfolio of vibrant buildings, has now just completed its most attention-grabbing project yet – the Hub Créatic in Nantes, which houses some 70 digital media startups.

The most immediately impressive aspect of the project is its bee-yellow facade, articulated as a series of skewed, hive-like window frames with operable shutters. Inside, employees of the various companies can gather in its majestic atrium, delineated by wood strips that have the wrap the floors like a swirling ribbon.

The 6,520-square-metre building’s position, at the heart of the La Chantrerie campus, links it to the private and public institutions of higher education that surround it. Positioned on Brittany road, the structure also overlooks Nantes town centre, with its Tour de Bretagne – another beacon of culture.
