Interior Design Principal Responsibilities
- Working alongside other practice leaders, grow a well-balanced interior design practice in Dallas.
- Engage local market sector leadership, and draw upon the expertise of multiple disciplines, leveraging the firm’s research, knowledge, and technical resources to deliver innovative and creative design solutions.
- Bring creative leadership with a strong sense of design and commensurate portfolio.
- Set the design and practice vision for the local interiors practice, in alignment with firm-wide design goals and the vision set by the Global Director of Interior Design and Interior Design Directors.
- In collaboration with the office and design leadership, provide inspiration and design direction for projects.
- Lead the interior design practice with local acquisition, recognition, development and mentoring of talent.
- Work with local marketing teams to actively pursue new business opportunities, go/no-go decisions, fee proposals, RFP responses and targeted project pursuits.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Embody high standards of design excellence and innovation, as well as an entrepreneurial approach to interior design as an integrated component of the firm’s total design strategy
- Be a positive, low-ego team player, focused on collaboration and the betterment of our interior design program.
- Leverage technology to present and document your ideas, demonstrating the ability to product presentation materials is important.
- Participate in the development of interview strategies, messaging, presentations, and interviews
- Participate as a thought leader in professional organizations, activities, and services in/around Dallas that further the firm vision, value, and relationships.
- Increase the awareness and understanding within the community of the firm’s practice on a local, regional, and national basis.
- 15+ years of experience in relevant design firm environment.
- NCIDQ certificate holder
- ID license in state where applicable.
- Must be capable of making client presentations.
- Ideal candidate will have proven business development experience and clientele base.
- Excellent people skills, and verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Honesty, integrity, passion, teamwork, enthusiasm, energy, drive.
- Ability to collaborate and integrate with existing team.
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp/Rhino (or similar), Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
- Advanced credentialing desired (e.g. LEED AP, WELL AP.)
