Stantec‘s New York City office is seeking a Bridge Design Manager to lead and manage engineering teams on large infrastructure projects and pursuits. A highly motivated Bridge Design Manager will establish a leading role on project design teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Oversee design development and project deliverables for Stantec projects such as bridges, highway interchanges, roadway reconstruction, subway stations, railroad infrastructure and public spaces
• Provide technical assistance in resolving complex problems and decision making
• Oversee construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record
• Perform and lead various design projects under Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build environments.
• Mentor and monitor work by other bridge engineers
• Provide design oversight and perform quality control and quality assurance checks on deliverables
• Perform client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations on various pursuits

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• License/ability to obtain the Professional Engineer license in NY and NJ
• Proficiency in STAAD, CSI Bridge, SAP, RISA, FBMP, PCA Structure Point Suite, MiDAS Civil, AutoDesk Structural Bridge Design, LARSA 4D, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and similar software
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, OpenBridge and/Autodesk Construction Cloud and MicroStation
• Expert level understanding of bridge design and rating codes, legal and design requirements
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and/or projects concurrently
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Experience and familiarity with agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA, PANYNJ, NJ Transit, Amtrak etc.
• Valid driver’s license with good record

Education and Experience

• Graduate Degree highly desired
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the structural design of bridges and transportation structures
• Ability to work as key personnel or subject-matter-expert on conventional and alternative bridge design and transportation projects
