For the Evolutionary Forces collection from Luum Textiles, designer Suzanne Tick looked to the natural cycle of evolution for inspiration – specifically following “how creation enables equilibrium, which passes to destruction, and allows the next wave to continue.”
Designer Suzanne Tick took an organic approach to pattern when developing the collection, which brought colour, texture and comfort to the foreground. The result is that the five distinct patterns in the Evolutionary Forces collection from Luum Textiles – Adaptation, Cognition, Unbounded, Observation and Simplicity – provide interiors with a grounding element and a renewed focus on wellness. The full series includes new types of recycled materials, an expansive variety of multicolour textures and indoor/outdoor upholstery and drapery options that emphasize luxury performance.

A 100 per cent acrylic indoor/outdoor upholstery fabric, Adaptation was inspired by the undulating shape of footpaths carved out along the shoreline after a winter storm. Combining sophisticated whites with flora and fauna tones, the textile celebrates the rawness of nature with a soothing tactility. The soft acrylic chenille is defined by fluid stripes that flow down fragmented areas of contrasting de-lustered acrylic. In seven colourways.

Cognition has an appealing softness and is an ideal choice for spaces where cleanability is important – sun-filled atriums, rooftop seating as well as healthcare and educational settings. A polypropylene/acrylic blend, the indoor/outdoor fabric is a multicoloured boucle in a pleasing palette of warm neutrals, vibrant greens and blues, rich charcoals and bright pink. In nine colourways.

The first high-UV drapery from Luum Textiles, Observation has a comforting lightweight feel and a range of calming colourways that include ethereal neutrals, tinted clay, sky blue and eggplant. Made from 100 per cent high-UV Trevira CS polyester, it is suitable for covered outdoor patios, indoor atriums, wellness rooms and more. In seven colourways.

Utilizing recycled Seaqual Yarn marine plastic in the warp of the polyester, post-consumer recycled polyester and nylon construction, the all-over multipurpose Unbounded has a compelling rawness to it tactile surface suitable for many applications. The fabric weaves a six-ply twisted habu yarn with chenille yarn, which scatters colour across the field. In 16 colourways.

Simplicity features a tonal two-colour effect that is the result of its cross-dye formula, which highlights both the lighter and darker colours in the cationic and disperse fibres. A contrasted broken twill weave pattern, it has a wool-like hand and is composed of 60 per cent recycled polyester. In 20 colourways.
As well as upholstery applications, the textiles in the Evolutionary Forces collection from Luum Textiles are suitable for wrapped walls, panels and screens, and all are bleach-cleanable.
