The newest addition to the Moor rug collection from &Tradition designed by Copenhagen-based graphic design studio All The Way To Paris adds a new decorative and tactile element to the foundation of the studio’s original 2016 series.
With this latest rendition of the Moor rug for &Tradition, All The Way To Paris has added luxurious cotton fringing to the pattern-free rug series, which emphasizes texture, shape and depth of colour over trendy motifs.
When originally conceiving the Moor rug collection for &Tradition, the designers were inspired by the heather-covered hills in the Scandinavian countryside, and the richness of each rug effectively captures the essence of the landscape.
Hand-woven by artisans in Bikaner, India, the Moor rugs are made from a blend of pure New Zealand wool and are intended to create a cozy spot for people to gather around, whether in the living room, family room, dining room or other inviting space. The rugs are soft and textural, with the new fringe enhancing even further the velvet-like expression.
After hand-looming each rug, the artisans cut the warp yarns to leave an excess, which is then fastened by hand into small tidy knots to create an informal fringe. The fringe itself is made from 100 per cent cotton in an off-white tone and extends beyond the border of the rug, lending even more tactile appeal.
The Moor rug collection by All The Way To Paris for the Copenhagen-based &Tradition is available in five nature-inspired colourways — Golden Brown, Red Heather, Green Pine, Beige Dew and Blue-Grey Thunder — with the neutral-toned cotton fringe offering a sophisticated complement to the earthy hues. Two sizes are offered.
