Multidisciplinary designer Kelly Wearstler has expanded her Morro collection with the addition of the Morro Long coffee table, a sculptural and refined focal point for any room.
Exemplifying modernity through geometric simplicity, the Morro Long coffee table is composed of two hefty carved spheres that support a substantial yet slender rounded slab surface. The overall effect is one of exaggerated elegance and effectively anchors a seating landscape.
Both the two-sphere base and flat tabletop are made from solid marble in a dreamy Light Smoke, giving a sense of consistency to the overall table while natural imperfections, intricate veining and tonal variations of the stone make each Morro Long coffee table unique.
Designed by Los Angeles-based Kelly Wearstler, the larger Morro collection carries the sphere as one of its main components. Where the four tables in the series – a side table, round coffee table, square coffee table and new long coffee table – use the circular shape as bases, the upholstered pieces – a vanity chair, chaise, lounge chair, sofa and ottomans – all have spherical wood feet. Originally a custom-designed table for the Proper hotel brand’s Santa Monica location, the Morro series has grown over the years into a concise and compelling collection that blends stylistic influences – mid-century Japanese, 1970s French and Italian furniture and modern California.
