Originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1963 for professors at St. Catherine’s College in Oxford, England, the Oxford task chair by Fritz Hansen has been updated to meet today’s needs while staying true to its classic form.

Still maintaining its refined silhouette, the chair has been updated with increased lumbar support, an advanced tilt mechanism and a height-adjustable seat that, together, better respond and adapt to a user’s individual body type and sitting style.

Further, the seat pan itself has been extended just enough to support a more natural sitting posture, whether in a home office or private dining room or in more public settings like shared meeting spaces and other public settings.

Optional armrests are slender and angled at a degree to allow the chair to fit neatly under tabletops, while two back heights are offered to suit different privacy and comfort preferences. The Oxford task chair is available in a range of fabrics and leathers in new colourways and multiple base options, including a new four-star fixed version.
