With his Sculptural console for Bonaldo, Belgian designer Alain Gilles turns the unassuming TV stand into a statement-making work of art.

Low-slung and linear, the console/TV stand has an arched “belly” on its underside that corrals cables and power bars out of sight; in most scenarios, the cord that connects to the electrical outlet is the only one visible.

The long stretch of surface can be used to arrange and display books or objects or as secondary seating in a living room or lounge.

Appearing to have been carved from a single yet massive piece of solid wood, Bonaldo’s Sculptural console introduces a monobloc element while the repetition of its five elliptical-shaped legs lends a sense of rhythmic movement.

Each Sculptural console is made from MDF and veneered wood (in Coal Oak or Walnut Canaletto) by skilled artisans in the Veneto region of Italy.
