LGA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architect to be part of a team and be a leader in the design and delivery of affordable housing, community housing, and shelter projects. This is a current vacancy. The ideal candidate has multi-unit housing experience and is an excellent designer, strong team leader, and experienced project manager who can guide projects from early concept through construction documentation and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases of design and construction, including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA).
  • Act as Project Manager, overseeing schedules, budgets, deliverables, and coordination with internal and external teams.
  • Develop thoughtful, high-quality design solutions with a focus on affordable and community-based housing and shelter environments.
  • Prepare and oversee the production of detailed drawing packages, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with consultants, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and other specialists.
  • Interface directly with clients, stakeholders, and community groups, presenting design concepts and project updates clearly and professionally.
  • Lead Construction Administration activities, including site visits, review of shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, issuing site instructions, and reviewing payment applications.
  • Ensure that construction aligns with design intent, contract documents, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Licensed Architect (or working toward licensure) with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proven experience delivering projects across all phases (SD, DD, CD, and CA).
  • Strong understanding of Construction Administration processes, documentation, and field coordination.
  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to translate concepts into buildable solutions.
  • Advanced technical skills, including the ability to detail buildings and produce comprehensive construction documents.
  • Experience in affordable housing, community housing, or shelter projects is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software (e.g., Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite).

Annual $85,000-115,000 based on experience level
